YESS

YESS and Wesley Community Services

During the 2009 holiday season, R&R employees gathered cleaning supplies and personal items for the Wesley Community Services product drive and the YESS holiday drive. We donated personal care and cleaning supplies to Wesley Community Services. The items we donated to YESS were given as gifts to the children who stayed at the facility during the holidays. R&R was also able to donate items directly to the facility. R&R Realty Group matched each of the items that employees donated to the drives. This was a very successful campaign for R&R Realty Group and our employees.

Rebuilding Together
Rebuilding Together

Since 2006 , R&R Realty Group teamed up with the Greater Des Moines affiliate of Rebuilding Together to assist a local family in “rebuilding” their home.  R&R employees, paired with numerous vendor volunteers, came together and worked hard to make a family’s dream come true.

Rebuilding Together is the leading volunteer organization that, in partnership with the community, rehabilitates the homes of low-income homeowners, particularly the elderly, disabled, and families with dependent children.  There is no cost to qualified homeowners for the services provided.  Non-profit facilities can also qualify for services.  Although plans and preparations go on throughout the year, volunteers come together for one glorious day of hard work, Rebuilding Day, traditionally the first Saturday in May.

Since its founding in 1994, the Greater Des Moines affiliate has revitalized 378 homes and non-profit facilities.

Blood Center of Iowa
R&R Realty Group’s Annual Blood Drive

R&R Realty Group is proud to team up with their employees and tenants on their annual blood drive during late May/early June. R&R works in conjunction with the Blood Center of Iowa to set up a schedule where the Blood Center comes to the office allowing R&R employees to contribute the valuable gift of life. Not only do the employees get involved, but the tenants are also given the opportunity to make a lifesaving donation. Scheduled stops at all of R&R’s properties allow for a convenient way for our customers to contribute to the community’s blood supply.

Each day, every two seconds, someone within the United States will require a procedure in which blood or blood products are needed. At R&R, we are dedicated to helping the Blood Center of Iowa’s goal to make sure blood is available to patients who need it – when they need it.

Construction Services, Inc. and West Des Moines Rotary Club Team Up to Build Conservation Deck for DMACC Campus

The West Des Moines Rotary Club in cooperation with Construction Services, Inc. (CSI) has completed their centennial project:  a new wildlife observation platform located at the DMACC West Campus.  Plans were developed by Pierce Coady, a member of the Rotary with input provided by CSI.  All of the hard work by Mr. Coady, CSI and the Rotary was performed on a volunteer basis.  Senior Project Manager Jeremy Lux of CSI headed the pricing, coordination and supervision of the project.  Concrete work was performed by Ken’s Concrete Services, lumber provided by Biesser Lumber and miscellaneous steel by Trinity Fabricators.  Once foundations were poured, CSI employees Ryan Keeney and Jeremy Lux set the main support beams, volunteering their time on the weekends.  Numerous volunteers with the Rotary were then called upon to install floor joists and decking.  The final touches (finish decking and railings) were provided by Perry Home Builders.  The new observation deck is a wonderful addition for students and members of the community to look out over the man-made pond and watch for deer, geese, ducks and other wildlife.
